If so, you are invited to attend the Classroom Scenarios: Teaching Assistant Training on August 17, 2023 from 10am to 12pm. This online workshop will provide you with the tools and resources you need to be successful in your new role.
What will you learn?
- Policies, practices, and resources for effective teaching and learning at Iowa State University.
- Potential challenges to student success and various campus resources for student support.
- Services, support, and development opportunities available to teaching assistants at Iowa State University.
What will you do?
- Discuss with other TAs in breakout rooms to solve potential classroom scenarios on various topics such as academic dishonesty, classroom management, and inclusivity.
- Get advice from and ask questions of a panel of Dean of Students Office (DSO) experts regarding each scenario.
This workshop is for you if:
- You are a new TA at Iowa State University.
- You have received a teaching assignment different from what you have done before.
- You are interested in learning more about effective teaching practices.
